Cancellation & Refund Policy

In one paragraph: bastion server hosting is $7.00 USD per month and renews automatically. You can cancel any time in the portal — no phone call, no retention maze. Cancelling stops future charges and your server keeps running until the end of the month you already paid for. If the service didn't work as described, email us within 14 days and we'll fix it or refund you.

What you're paying for

A bastion server subscription is $7.00 USD per month, per server, charged to your payment method on the same day each month until you cancel. There is no setup fee, no minimum term, and no cancellation fee. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

The Bastion Blast game is sold separately on Steam and is not part of this subscription.

How to cancel

Two ways, both immediate:

Sign in to the server portal, open Billing, and choose Cancel subscription.
Or email support@ravendell.org from your account address and ask us to cancel. We'll confirm within one business day.

When you cancel:

You are not charged again.
Your server keeps running until the end of the period you already paid for, then stops.
We do not pro-rate partial months — you keep the time you bought.
Your world save stays downloadable for 30 days after the subscription ends. After that it may be permanently deleted, so grab it if you want it.

When we issue refunds

We want you to pay only for service you actually got. We will refund you when:

The service didn't work. If your server failed to start, was unusable, or suffered a sustained outage that was our fault, tell us within 14 days of the charge and we will credit or refund the affected period in full.
You were charged by mistake. Duplicate charges, charges after a confirmed cancellation, or charges for a server you never created are refunded in full, no questions asked.
You changed your mind quickly. If you subscribed within the last 14 days and have barely used the server, ask us — we'll generally refund the first month as a courtesy.
We discontinue the service. If we shut down hosting, we refund the unused portion of your current period on a pro-rated basis.
The law says so. If you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with a statutory withdrawal or cooling-off right, that right applies in addition to everything above and is not limited by this policy.

When we generally don't

Months already used and enjoyed, once the period has elapsed.
The unused remainder of a month after a voluntary mid-month cancellation — your server stays up for that time instead.
Subscriptions terminated for a serious breach of our Terms of Service.

Even so, if your situation feels unfair, write to us and explain. We are a small studio and we'd rather resolve it than argue.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe. We process them within 5 business days of approval; your bank or card issuer typically takes a further 5–10 business days to show the money. We'll email you a confirmation when the refund is issued.

Game purchases on Steam

Refunds for the Bastion Blast game itself are handled by Valve, not by us, under the Steam Refund Policy — generally within 14 days of purchase and under 2 hours of playtime. Request it through your Steam account.

Chargebacks

If something looks wrong on your statement, please email us first. We can almost always resolve a billing problem faster than a bank dispute, and disputes filed before contacting us may result in the account being suspended while the case is open.
